If you advertise on craigslist, then spambots searching for emails in the listings find your email and send you spam. This happens within hours of posting your ad on craigslist and continues to happen as long as your ad remains posted. Now craigslist charges very little to nothing for posting an ad, so the return on investment is positive in the end, you just have to be willing to receive spam.

Now lets analyse the same situation in Adwords. This is a pay-per-click system, and the clicks you pay for are not only going toward new clients, they are also being part of soliciting. Our company manages Adwords accounts, we use Google analytics in conjunction with Livezilla (a realtime website monitoring system) to monitor our visitors and how they got to us. Lately we have noticed a disturbing trend. We tell our clients that when executing an Adwords campaign it must account for a percentage of clicks made by the competition, but now we have to also include clicks made by solicitors, which are mainly SEO solicitors.

This new trend has become very costly to most small businesses and some medium size businesses.

The purpose of this post is to discuss a solution that Google may implement to increase the click quality that still makes their shareholders happy.
